EDUCATION OF A CHIROPRACTIC
DOCTOR
All
chiropractors have undergone at least six to eight years of intense
college and university training. In Canada, this includes three
or four years of regular college or university prior to attending
an additional four years of Chiropractic College.
The
British Columbia Chiropractic Association also requires that all
chiropractors licensed in B.C. complete a minimum of 24 hours of
continuing education biannually. Of these 24 hours, a certain number
must be in radiology and record keeping. This ensures a high standard
of chiropractors who are always updating their education and skills.
We
are often asked what the difference is between the education of
a Medical Doctor versus a Chiropractic Doctor. Therefore, we have
listed the individual topics studied and the hours spent on each
topic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and the University
of Alberta Medical School.
