PERSONAL BACKGROUND
INFORMATION
Dr. Colin Gage
Dr.
Colin Gage has lived in Merritt almost his entire life. He graduated
from Merritt Secondary School in 1988, attended University College
of the Cariboo for one year in Kamloops, and then three years at
the University of Victoria. He continued his studies at the Canadian
Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto for another four years,
graduating as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1996. Always knowing that
his hometown of Merritt was where he wanted to live, he returned
and set up his own Chiropractic practice in 1996. After two years of operating his business, he was given
the Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Chamber of Commerce.
He is now entering his 12th year of practicing in Merritt.
Colin has always been very involved
in his community. Was one of the many members of the Merritt
Sunrise Rotary Club for 6 years. He has gone from an
affiliate player for the Merritt Centennials in 1986/87/88 to one
of the many people presently involved in the Merritt Centennials
ownership group. He also volunteers time in his practice to help
the players keep their competitive edge. Within the Merritt and
District Chamber of Commerce, he has been actively involved in serving
the business community as a member for 12 years and a director
for two years. For many years, he has been the president
of the Merritt Mountain Bike Association Inc. He, his fellow directors,
and club members have been working hard to promote and preserve
mountain biking in Merritt. Further demonstrating his commitment
to Merritt, he renovated a new professional building on 2076
Granite Ave. in the early spring of 2002. His hobbies include mountain
biking, fishing, photography, and woodworking, and enjoys spending
time with his two daughters, Tyra and Janelle.
